“Weather will improve from today evening onwards and no major rain/snowfall activity is expected till the end of this month,” he added.
On the other hand, the authorities in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday ordered closure of schools in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
“Keeping in view the inclement weather conditions and for the safety of children all the government and private schools up to elementary level (up to class 8th) shall remain closed on March 24,” reads a communique issued by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara.
Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only road connecting Valley with rest of the States, also remained closed for vehicular movement. The highway was closed for the vehicular movement on Monday afternoon following the landslides triggered by the heavy rainfall.
