xpressing grief over an accident that left five people dead in Ramban district on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday asked concerned departments to carry a road safety audit within a week.
‘Saddened by the loss of lives in Ramban road accident. My condolences to bereaved families. I have directed the concerned departments to carry out road safety audit and rectification measures within a week,’ Mr Sinha wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The LG said the concerned departments should also launch road safety awareness campaign on such stretches to check accidents caused due to human errors.

Five persons were killed and one suffered injuries when a passenger taxi they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a nallah in Ramban district in Jammu Division in the wee hours on Saturday.
