Srinagar: Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader, Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo on Thursday said that the re-organisation of engineering wings for better public deliverance is need of the hour and said that abolishing previously launched schemes is not in fate of the well educated unemployed engineers.

In a statement issued here, PDP leader Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo said that, the engineering community is the back of development.

Yatoo said that Lt Governor must revisit his approach in this regard and said that, the government should involve young engineering technocrats in carrying out various jobs and works being executed by them.

“The Re-organisation of engineering wings should happen for expansion, better public deliverance and effective management,” adding that their long pending demands of Cadre review, Implementation of ACP, and regularisation should be given preference as soon as possible.

“The government must undertake the capacity building of these technocrats in collaboration with respective departments so that they are able to deliver effectively in tune with the requirements of the individual departments.” Adding that this would also ensure that they would exhibit satisfactory performance in terms of quality of works undertaken by them.

Yatoo said that, there is a dire need to implement various schemes in letter and spirit.

He appealed LG for expansion of mechanical and other engineering divisions for better public deliverance in PHE, Irrigation, Hospitals, and R&B departments.
