It is crucial to understand that the effects of roasting are often more serious than we would imagine. There is no general right to take offence at the contents of another person’s speech in a private environment. Roasting may inflict harm or distress on the victim.
Everyone now a days here in Kashmir has started roasting, which can have significantly negative outcomes. It can lead to anxiety and depression.People who are being roasted on mimicking media sites’ have a massive impact on their mental health, some of them have suicidal thoughts. It is not permissible to make people laugh by hurting the sentiments of others.
Notably in Kashmir, bullying someone’s self-esteem is never a fun. Be mindful of it can kill someone from inside throughly and can cause long period of depression. It is also extremely harmful often resulting in shame, embarrassment and reputations being compromised. Some DDC Candidates’ have become victim of this now a days, as they are being humiliated publicly through criticism. Instead of making fun of any person, we should hide their mistakes.
Harrowing statement given by father of one, according to him, his son is mentally unsounded and some youtubers are humiliating him only for gaining fame. No one deserves to be a victim of bullying. Everybody has the right to be treated with respect. This must be taught how to behave towards others.
Family members of diverse bullying victims are suffering from stress and trauma’ so we should bear in mind that there is not just one form of bullying, rather there are many. It is paramount for us to recognise what bullying is and the seriousness of the issue.
Islamic outlook on bullying someone:
Mocking, teasing someone publicly is strictly prohibited in Islam, The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) warned against mocking people and hurting their feelings, because that is the path that leads to hatred and grudges. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, he does not wrong him, let him down or look down upon him. Taqwa (piety, awareness and fear of Allah) is here”and he pointed to his chest three times.“It is sufficient evil for a man to look down upon his Muslim brother. Every Muslim is sacred to another Muslim, his blood, his property and his honour.” (Narrated by Muslim).
In the verse of Holy Qur’an Allah says:
“O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by offensive nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent then it is those who are the wrongdoers.” (Qur’an 49:11).
Characteristics of a Muslim is that he does not give a problem to his other fellow Muslim. That is why preventive approach is much emphasized in Islam in order to avoid bigger disaster in individuals, families and society as a whole.
It become a religious responsibility of a Muslim to treat other fellow men fairly, disagree with them honestly, enjoy their friendship, work together for a common goal and help one another to achieve it. This respect is performed on the basis of religious teaching. It is evidenced in the Islamic history that there was Islamic respect regarding ther religions as exemplified by the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and how Islam seeks to establish good relations with other traditions through a profound respect and understanding of the knowledge and major authorities of other people.
