Security forces launch search operation in Anantnag village

Government forces on Sunday launched a Cordon-and-Search-Operation in Arwani area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Officials said that a joint team of government forces including Army’s RR, SOG of JK police and CRPF cordoned off Arwani area of the district and conducted house to house searches.

According to locals all entry and exit points leading towards the area were sealed off by the security forces.

A police official said that the search operation has been launched following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Searches were going on in the area when last reports came in.
