Shalteng minor’s body fished out from water body hours after drowning

Rescuers fished out the body of a minor from stagnant water body in Shalteng area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on late Friday evening.

3-year-old Rashid Saleem Sofi of Ghalib Abad Shalteng had drowned in the water body on Friday afternoon.

After frantic searches by the police and the locals, the body of the minor was recovered from the water body late Friday evening, officials said.

An official said the body was handed over to legal heirs after completion of formalities.
