Six residential houses and two cow sheds were damaged in a fire incident in the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara, official said here on Thursday.
They said fire broke out in a residential house at Nawabazar in Srinagar late on Wednesday night. “Fire tenders were rushed to the area to douse off the leaping flames,” they said.

However, before the fire was brought under control, it spread to nearby structures. “Six residential houses were damaged in the incident,” they said.
They said no one was injured in the incident, the cause of the fire as not immediately known.
“Case has been registered and investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire,”
they added.
