Slain Hizb commander’s father joins militant ranks in Tral

Srinagar: The father of a slain Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant commander has gone missing in South Kashmir’s Tral area of Pulwama district, and is believed to have joined militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

According to the family members of Hameed, He (Hameed) went missing from his home on July 19 and did not return.

“Since then, his phone is switched off, and we have no information about him,” said his family members. Adding that they have also registered an FIR in this regard.

Hameed’s Son, Adil Chopan, a HM cadre militant was killed on November 20, 2017, in a gunfight with government forces in Gujjar Basti area of Tral.

The slain militants father (Abdul Hameed) will be the oldest among the cadre of militants in south Kashmir.

A senior police official also confirmed and said Hameed has joined the militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.
