A 27-year-old youth from Arihal area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has bagged the gold medal in Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg.
Asif Aziz, hailing from Arihal village of Pulwama district, takes home 3rd Gold Medal in National winter games of Khelo India 2021 for his outstanding performance in Skiing.
“It was a pleasure for me to be honored with 3rd gold medal in Alpine Ski. I’m so grateful to my parents as well as High Altitude Warfare School, Gulmarg for their contribution and support,” Asif said
Asif has earlier participated in several snow ski competitions and has won many medals.
“So far, i have acquired two gold medals in Senior National Championships, one in Khelo India Winter Games,” Asif said.
Asif has participated in three Senior National Alpine Ski Championship, which was held in Manali and Auli in year 2019 & 2020.

In a rang of winter games of Khelo India, which witnessed participation of 27 States and Union Territories across India, Jammu and Kashmir bagged 11 gold, 18 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The mega sports event witnessed the participation of more than 1200 athletes from different parts of the country.
Principal secretary Youth Services and Sports, Alok Kumar, Major General RK Singh, Commandant High altitude Warfare school Gulmarg, Director Tourism G. N. Itoo, Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gull and other officials from civil and police administration were present during the concluding ceremony of the event.
Asif urged youngesters to take part in adventure sports, as it contribute to have positive psychological outcomes and keep you fit and trim, which keeps your heart and body healthy.
