Taliban delegation to meet Pak FM Qureshi today

Islamabad: A delegation of the Afghan Taliban led by Abdul Ghani Baradar will call on Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi today to discuss the Afghan peace process.

The delegation which arrived in Islamabad at the invitation of the Pakistani leadership on Monday will discuss the recent developments in Afghanistan’s peace process, relaxation and facilitation of people´s movement and trade between the two neighbouring countries, Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen had confirmed on Sunday in a tweet.

Pakistan had invited the Taliban to Pakistan to stress the importance of talks, adding that negotiations were the “the only way forward” in Afghanistan.
