Three of nomadic family buried under mudslide in Reasi

Srinagar: Three members of a nomad family were buried under a landslide in Mahore area of Reasi district, police said today.

An official said that heavy rainfall triggered a landslide on Monday late night in Khour area, burying a temporary hut of a nomad family.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, said that three persons, including a couple, got buried after their temporary shelter came under the mudslide in the upper reaches in the Shadol area.

“On receiving information, police teams from Khor and Deval areas rushed to the spot and retrieved all three bodies,” said the SSP.

The trio according to police were identified as Khalil, his wife Ruksana Begum and Muhammad Aslam.
