Three schools were closed in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday after a total of forty-one positive cases of Covid-19 were detected from these institutions, officials said.
An official was quoted as saying by KDC that following detection of positive cases, authorities ordered closure of Al-Asar School, Chewdara, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Hafroo Nagam and Delhi Public school, Budgam as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of virus.
Furnishing details, officials said that 33 cases of Covid-19 were found at Boys Higher Secondary School, Hafroo Nagam, adding that school has been closed for 10 days.

He said that two positive cases were detected from DPS Budgam during the mass testing drive and subsequently school was closed for the next 5 days.
He added that six people returned positive for the virus in Al-Asar School, Chewdara Beerwah and school was closed for the next five days.
Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir reported 471 positive cases of Covid-19 on Thursday.
