Tika Lal steals show in Tagore Hall

Tika Lal in his late sixties is a selfish, self centered retired government employee and bereft of emotions. His unique mannerisms and love for money make him unpleasant person for his family and society in particular.

Rashid Shahnaz a well known drama artist yesterday played Tika Lal after more than two decades. The occasion was Annual Drama Festival in Tagore Hall organised by Cultural Academy. The performance as Tika Lal by Rashid Shahnaz enthralled the audience small in number though. Character Tika Lal won hearts and minds of knowledgeable audience.

“Everything is not lost after watching Rashid Shahnaz playing Tika Lal as far as theatre in Kashmir is concerned. Performances like these can easily rejuvenate battling theatre in Kashmir.” Said one eminent media personality wishing not to be named.

Young aspiring artist in the audience said, “this brilliant performance by Tika Lal (Rashid Shahnaz) is adorable and senior artists like him is pride of Valley.
