The 300 km-long Srinagar-Jammu Highway, the only surface link between Valley and the rest of India, was reopened once again Thursday afternoon after remaining shut for hours due to fresh snowfall near Jawahar Tunnel.
The arterial road was closed on Wednesday late evening.

A traffic official said, “Today afternoon, the Srinagar-Jammu Highway was opened for traffic from Jammu to Srinagar. Traffic will be allowed till evening. We hope that vehicles reach Srinagar by tonight.”
The vehicular movement on highway was suspended earlier today in view of the fresh snowfall in Jawahar Tunnel.
