Two packets of Heroin-like substance recovered in Uri: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered two packets of Heroin-like substance at Dachi – Uri area of Baramulla district.

A police spokesman in a statement issued said, “In furtherance to our continuous efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Uri Police recovered contraband from Dachi area.”

“At around 1100 hrs during the routine check-up of vehicles a Sumo vehicle bearing Registration no JK-05D 6531 was stopped and the passengers frisked, reads that statement issued here by police. Adding that in the meantime two packets of Heroin-like substance were recovered from possession of two persons on-board to the vehicle.

Police identified the duo as Irfan Ahmad Mir and Irshad Ahmed Pood, both residents of Nambla area of Uri.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case under FIR number 174 /20 under sections 8/ 21 & 29 NDPS Act at police station Uri.
