he inhabitants of Syed Pora Narbal in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday expressed strong resentment against the Roads and Building Development (R&B) department for failing to construct the drainage system in the area.
Syed Mohammad Amin, a local resident of Narbal told that the road leading to district headquarters are still under water after the incessant rains lashed the valley for the last three days.
The locals said that despite their repeated pleas to the administration for constructing a drain on the roadside, the authorities did not show any interest. With the result, the rain water enters the residential houses.
“Absence of drainage system is the main reason for water logging in our area, which causes trouble for pedestrian movement,” said another villager, Gh Mohd.
Another resident of the villager said that the drainage was approved but remains yet to be completed.
He also added that there is flood like condition in the whole area and none of the concerned government officials have visited the area.
Chief Engineer, R&B, Kashmir, told Good Morning Kashmir that the the issue will be solved as soon as possible.
