Srinagar: A youth who was seriously wounded at the site of gunfight in Sirhama village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday has succumbed to injuries.
Yaseen Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather suffered critical injuries on Friday after a shell exploded at the encounter site while a group of people were reportedly clearing the debris of the house which was razed to ground by the forces during the gunfight.
The youth succumbed to injuries in the wee hours today after battling for life for nearly three days at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the SMHS.
A pall of gloom descended at Sirhama-the native village of Yaseen when his body reached his home today morning for last rites, relatives of the deceased said.
An official also confirmed that the youth succumbed to injuries today morning.
On Friday, two LeT militants were killed in an encounter in Sirhama area of the district.
